I have seen a bed bug does it mean I am infested and how can I get rid of them?

about a month ago I went to the library and came home with a bedbug on my shirt. I killed it and I haven’t seen one again until today when I saw a small one crawling on the arm of my couch towards my arm. Does this mean I have an canker. How can I get rid of them? So far I have no bites or bite marks. I checked my bed thoroughly for about 3 weeks after I found the one crawling on me and nothing until today on the couch.
I haven’t properly catalog the bed bug but a friend of mine had them and she said it was bed bug in question. I don’t know, I have checked my bed throughly and threw out the couch that I saw it on and so far I havent seen any more bedbugs. I am so afraid I will see an whole bunch somewhere. I do have carpet, and I try to vaccum every day. If push comes to shove I will rip up all the carpet and call in a professional.click here
